Sleep on deck under the stars on our anchor night

We sail out from Dubrovnik and along the picture postcard Coast. It is like stepping back in time to beautiful old stone mansions metres from the water's edge, all framed by pine clad hills. All around are swimming coves and jetties, setting the scene for your Croatian Island hopping adventure. Diving in for impromptu swims is a feature of holidaying in the right location on a boat. Dinner tonight is a unique experience for Croatia - set in huts over the water in a mini-Maldives setting!

First meal: D - Onshore at First Island

Docking: Jetty - Walk On/Off as you wish

After the seclusion of your first night's hut experience, wake for a morning hike to the nearby village of Sudurad. There's great local coffee or hire a kayak first. Pack your hiking shoes because it's a rock-themed path set amongst the trees, so not a relaxing walk. It's your holiday so do as you please. With a leisurely day ahead of swimming and a short sail to reach sandy Saplunara Beach for the night, you can take your time.

Saplunara is very much a holiday place with huts lining the beach as you see on the photos above, and sandy shallows as you swim to them. There is a stand selling ice creams and drinks nearby.

Underway to Mljet we head through the gorgeous Elaphiti Islands and a quick swim stop amongst the tree-lined almost uninhabited Island of Jaklan. These islands are a collection of several islands, mostly uninhabited, Northwest of Dubrovnik.

Wake up for a morning beach swim then lay on deck as we set off for Lastovo, the Islands between us and Italy. You have the choice to set off early and swim into Ulysses Cave on the way, which was once used as a shelter by fishermen in days gone by. The sunlight creates a spectrum of colours in this natural phenomenon.

Another recommended swim stop is at a remote, secluded bay; where you may feel you are surrounded by a deserted island. Lastovo has a real feel of a traditional Croatian way of life. If you want to stretch your legs take a stunning walk to the main town of Lastovo. This region is known for its wine, its 15th and 16th Century architecture and the island has several famous chimneys that were once status symbols of Lastovo families. Tonight dine in the peaceful harbour or select a restaurant in the town.

Set amongst spectacular scenery and within the stunning backdrop of dense pine tree forests, Korcula is believed to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. We arrive early into the medieval old town, as there is so much to see here. It is inevitable you will delightfully lose your way around the old town’s narrow streets. The historic buildings, medieval towers and fortifying walls are stunning. Boutiques and galleries with locally produced arts and crafts are aplenty to immerse yourself in. Round off the afternoon by sipping cocktails at Bar Massimo. This exquisite cocktail bar is situated up a narrow castle-like staircase in the old guard tower right on the waterfront with spectacular sunset views out to sea.

Korcula in the morning is a unique experience, with time to wander taking uninterrupted photos. Today we have a leisurely sail down to Polace or across to Trstenik whilst enjoying the favourable prevailing wind. Take the helm or sit back and enjoy laying on deck. If you love to sail, today is a great day. Trstenik - to the Southern side of the Peljesac Peninsula, a winemaker’s paradise with generous sunshine and consequently widely renowned for its fine wines. There are acres of vineyards interspersed by olive trees. Tonight there is an optional Trstenik Winery trail to Vinarija Grgic and a second smaller, more rustic cellar for wine tasting before dinner at one of the lovely waterfront konobas overlooking the yachts.

Polace is a small village and home to the Roman Ruins on the island beside the entrance to the national park. We arrive in the afternoon with time for a relaxing walk around the village which has a lovely atmosphere. We can moor in front of a special fresh fish restaurant or take a secluded spot for the yacht further into the protected bay where you can still walk to the village via a beach, but remain hidden away for night swims. From the yachts it’s a 15 minute walk into the park or hire a cycle for a vigorous ride into the stunning Mljet National Park to reach Malo Jezero, one of the two interconnected salt water lakes.
