Day by day

We sail out from Dubrovnik and along the picture postcard Coast. It is like stepping back in time to beautiful old stone mansions metres from the water's edge, all framed by pine clad hills. All around are swimming coves and jetties, setting the scene for your Croatian Island hopping adventure for the coming week. Diving in for impromptu swims is feature of holidaying in the right location on a boat. Dinner is a unique experience for Croatia - set in huts over the water in a mini-Maldives setting!

First meal: D - Onshore at First Island

Docking: Private Jetty - Walk On/Off as you wish

After the seclusion of your first night's hut experience, walk to the nearby village of Sudurad for an onshore coffee. It's your holiday and with a leisurely day of swimming and reaching sandy Saplunara Beach for the night, savour the walk back to the boat.

This is very much a holiday feel with huts lining the beach, and sandy shallows as you swim up to them.

re's lots of time for morning swims in this idyllic location. Underway to Mljet we head through the gorgeous Elaphiti Islands and a quick swim stop amongst the tree-lined almost uninhabited Island of Jaklan. These islands are a collection of several islands, mostly uninhabited, Northwest of Dubrovnik. We will swim or take the dinghies into the famous Ulysses Cave, used as a shelter by fishermen in days gone by. The sunlight creates a spectrum of colours in this natural phenomenon. We then set sail for Pomena which is a small village as well as a harbour and the main entrance to the national park. We arrive in the afternoon with time for a relaxing walk around the village which has a lovely atmosphere. We moor in front of our special fresh fish restaurant where you will be served by the fisherman who caught your supper! Walk around the bay after dinner and enjoy the lively al fresco cocktail bar.

Docking: National Park Entrance - Walk On/Off as you wish

From the yachts it’s a 15 minute walk into the park or hire a cycle for a vigorous ride into the stunning Mljet National Park to reach Malo Jezero, one of the two interconnected salt water lakes. It’s a beautiful natural ecosystem and a majestic place. Today our swim stop is in a remote, secluded bay; you may feel you are surrounded by a deserted island! Lastovo has a real feel of a traditional Croatian way of life. If you want to stretch your legs take a stunning walk to the main town of Lastovo. This region is known for its wine, its 15th and 16th Century architecture and the island has several famous chimneys that were once status symbols of Lastovo families. Tonight we dine in the peaceful harbour.

Set amongst spectacular scenery and within the stunning backdrop of dense pine tree forests, Korcula is believed to be the birthplace of Marco Polo. We arrive early into the medieval old town, as there is so much to see here. It is inevitable you will delightfully lose your way around the old town’s narrow streets. The historic buildings, medieval towers and fortifying walls are stunning. Boutiques and galleries with locally produced arts and crafts are aplenty to immerse yourself in. Round off the afternoon by sipping cocktails at Bar Massimo. This exquisite cocktail bar is situated high up a narrow castle-like staircase in the old guard tower right on the waterfront with spectacular sunset views out to sea.

Korcula in the morning is a unique experience, with time to wander taking uninterrupted photos. Today we have a leisurely sail down to Trstenik whilst enjoying the favourable prevailing wind. Take the helm or sit back and enjoy the ride. If you love to sail, today is a great day! Onto the Southern side of the Peljesac Peninsula, a winemaker’s paradise with generous sunshine and consequently widely renowned for its fine wines. There are acres of vineyards interspersed by olive trees. Tonight there is an optional Trstenik Winery trail to Vinarija Grgic and a second smaller, more rustic cellar for wine tasting before dinner at our lovely waterfront konoba overlooking the yachts.

We take you to the best kept secret in Croatia! Ston, the 'City of Salt' is over 500 years old and home to the oldest salt pans in Europe and the largest preserved pans in the Mediterranean. The staggering 14th Century four mile stone wall is a sight to behold. Constructed to protect the once best selling precious commodity (salt) of the Dubrovnik Republic. The 'Great Wall of Croatia' is the longest complete fortress system in Europe. The walls circle the village then climb up the hill to the Pozvizd Fortress. There are thirty rectangular towers and ten round ones dotted along the wall. Ston is famous for its locally cultivated oysters which have been described as exquisite.

Visiting Dubrovnik Old Town

If it helps avoid the cost of accommodation, the last night of our trip (Friday night) can be used to visit Dubrovnik Old Town because the yachts return to the marina which is only 15 mins by road to the Old Town. Many guests having met on our trips visit Dubrovnik Old Town together as a group and return to the yacht to sleep before checkout the next morning.

Checking In

For your convenience we have our own check-in centre inside ACI Marina Dubrovnik.

We are the first check-in office en route with a large four metre high Getaway Sailing flag to stand out.

We are the only 'foreign / non-Croatian' company to have an office inside the marina which means you can easily find us and relax on arrival because we aren't checking you in on the footpath amongst the crowds.

Private Transfers

If you are arriving by car we are the closest check-in office to the drop-off location at the front of the Marina. You will have the opportunity to organise a private transfer with us by requesting it online in our Client Login area.

Rental Cars

If you are renting a car before or after your sailing holiday, you can connect seamlessly from car to boat or boat to car by booking your rental car through us. The car rental provider will then dropoff or collect your car from our office.
