Blue Cave Split: 7 nights / 8 days - Hvar - Vis - Blue Caves - Komiza - Brac - Solta

  • Introduction
  • Day by day
  • Route map
  • Meeting Point

Opened to the public in 1884 the Blue Cave is one of the biggest attractions in Croatia. It has an intense blue effect during the summer from 9 AM to 4 PM but the ideal moment to visit it is between 11 AM and noon. This phenomenon happens because sunlight reflects through the water illuminating the cave inside with aquamarine light while objects in the water are filled with a silver glow.

The Cave was formed by the wave action of the sea and it was originally accessible only by diving, but an artificial entrance was made for smaller boats. Its important to know that if winds are too strong it is NOT possible to enter the cave because entrance to the cave is small. Swimming is also not permissable because the cave is protected.

While you stay on Vis you can also explore other attractions, some of them are hidden Stiniva beach which was named the top beach in Europe for 2016, Green Cave, abandoned submarine tunnel and military tunnels, Mount Hum - highest location on the island with breathtaking panoramic view and many more hidden bays and beaches.

After Vis we are sailing for Hvar. You will visit the world famous Hvar Town, top summer destination in Croatia, if you are a history lover you can visit Spanish Fortress above Hvar Town and experience amazing view from the top. Want to party? Hvar is the party capital of Croatian summers and there is a plenty of beach clubs and cocktail bars

After breakfast and a morning swim, we set sail for Vis, the Island that was Tito's military base and closed to the world for decades. Lay on deck and soak up the sun. Venture into Vis Town for the evening and explore the stunning old town on a rented bike or moped or on foot!

Enjoy a morning swim from Komiza before we Island hop across to the Pakleni Islands. The marina is beside a tropical setting as you walk through the lush and restaurants and cafes set amongst it. In the evening take the short taxi boat trip across to the Island of Hvar. Hvar Town is the party capital of Croatian summers with Beach clubs, Cocktail bars, piazza dining and cavernous restaurants set into the walk up the hill to the Spanish Fortress.

Docking: ACI Marina Palmizana - Walk On/Off as you wish

After the party lights in Hvar Town, we Island hop to Stari Grad which translated means 'Old Town'. It was the original capital of the Island of Hvar and is a picturesque seaside harbour town. Wander the quay side and small alleys to select a restaurant for the evening or ask your skipper for suggestions. We always want to know you've eaten well and we know the restaurants for all price levels and food preferences.

B - Onboard, L - Onboard, D - Onshore

Docking: Fishing Harbour - Walk On/Off as you wish

After the marina and harbour experiences of the previous two nights it makes sense to consider a night on anchor where the boat is moored in 8-10 metres of water. Perfect for night swims, sleeping on deck under the stars and a sunrise swim if you're interested. Lučice is a protected cove and an interesting place for divers because of its cave on the western side of the bay. Along the sandy sea floor and dense pine forest, the sea in Lučice has an exquisite sky blue colour that simply invites visitors for a swim. You're welcome to cook onboard or take our suggestion and dine onshore at a waterfront Restaurant, we'll take you to dinner by dinghy.

B - Onboard, L - Onboard, D - Onshore

Docking: Mooring Buoy - Dinghy to Shore

Voyage back to Split today. We take our time and make sure you have lots of time to swim and top-up the tan before your onward travels. Decide the balance of swimming, sailing and relaxing that suits you and your friends. We'll return to the marina in Split where we'll be docked for the evening. Relax onboard with a drink. You have a few dinner options here - walking to the West Coast or into Split Old Town, or taking a taxi out of town to one of our local favourites.
