DAY 1 SATURDAY - DUBROVNIK TO ELAPHITI ISLANDS

We welcome you to check in then we leave the marina sailing under the impressive Franjo Tudman Bridge, heading for the gorgeous and unspoilt Elafiti Islands. Our first evening will be on the Island of Sipan at the village of Sudurad. There is a traditional konoba (restaurant) overlooking the small fisherman's harbour.

This charming konoba still houses an ancient olive oil press; a stone wheel turned by donkeys to crush the olives. Wake up in time for a morning swim and a walk around this picturesque village, find classic Croatian homes made from the sand coloured stone that is typical of this region.

Scedro is a protected nature park and an island a few kilometres off the south coast of the island of Hvar. The name comes from štedri, meaning charitable in old Slavonic, because the island offers two deep, well-protected coves. According to the centuries-old Hvar Statute of 1331, the island was communal property and reserved for use as a pasture because it is very fertile, with a mild climate. Thanks to night dew it was used to grow grain. Around 30 people live on the island in summer.

"This Dubrovnik to Split trip was exactly what we were looking for. The Hvar overland explorer was excellent and perfectly timed in the middle of the trip too! It was so great to have the chance to see all three places on Hvar - Hvar Town, Starigrad and Vrboska! Well done Getaway Sailing on a truly unique aspect to this very established sailing route."

Delna and James - Sydney, Australia

"Thanks Getaway Sailing for making my dream come true. The National Park is spectacular and we saw dolphins which is amazing having them swim beside our boat."

Hills - Oxford, U.K.

"The Catamaran was awesome! Croatia has spectacular scenery, and perfect weather. A truly memorable holiday. There were four couples on the boat and everyone commented on the attention to detail from this company and their Welcome Pack of info. It put us at ease immediately and their checkin centre in Dubrovnik Marina made arrival and departure very smooth . The hardest thing was waiting 9 months for the holiday! ."

Gordon - Perth, Australia

"We were invited by our friends doing this trip and so happy we did! The swimming and Island hopping during the day was incredible, but the evening stops were exceptional. The combination of food, location and atmosphere onboard the Catamaran was really special. Having a local skipper that took us to a few of the hidden places was extra special"

Andy and Fiona - London, U.K.

"I wish I'd tried a sailing holiday years ago! It is so different being able to see a new place each day without packing the bags! Thanks to our skipper Ivan and Georgia for organising it all."

Peter - Swansea, U.K.

"Thank you very much for a fantastic trip. Perfect combination of fishing villages and the buzzing Hvar"

Thor - Svelvik, Norway
